Happy New Year 2022

Happy New Year!!  I’m making a promise to myself to blog more about our trips❤️❤️.  Mike and I celebrated New Years at Hunting Island State Park.  We are camping in our travel trailer. 

We are embarking on our 1st, of hopefully many, Hikers 365 Challenge (#Hikers365Challenge).  The challenge is to hike 365 miles in 365 days all the while getting out for adventure 😊😊 (#myadventurechallenge).  We will keep you posted on how it’s going 🤞🤞. 

Today we started with the Diamondback Rattlesnake Trail, some of the Maritime Forest Trail, Palmetto Pass Trail, Lagoon Trail, and Nature Center Scenic Trail.  We completed 5 miles today😊.  Only 360 to go😳😳. Hot, humid and sunny on New Years Day 2022.  We hiked in shorts and t-shirts.

Santee State Park Camping Trip

Mike and I spent a long weekend at Santee State Park. We camped in our travel trailer from Friday to Monday.  Friday night was cold and rainy💧🌧☔️🌂.  Saturday was cold and windy.  Monday was the best weather day but of course we had to go home for work tomorrow ☹️.  We were in the Cypress Campground.  Loved it!!  The other campground has more sites but definitely not as nice.  No wildlife this weekend except some squirrels.  Mike did see a fox squirrel when we drove in.  Ate dinner at Lonestar BBQ Friday and Saturday.  We did check out the Santee Indian Mound and Fort Watson.

Hike #13 2022

Well we were at it again today😊😊!!  Hiked 🥾 5 miles to Kephart Shelter and back.  The temperature was in the low 40’s when we started and in the low 50’s when we finished.  So many beautiful views.  No wildlife today on the trail.  February total 23.41 miles Cumulative total 62.72/365 miles Hikers 365 Challenge. #hikers365challenge #myadventurechallenge

First tent camping trip of 2022

I’m late posting again❤️!!  Last weekend Mike and I tent camped at Smokemont campgrounds in the great smoky mountains national park. We were at site B 34 which we love. It was a great weekend.  It was a bit cold at night.  We have upped our camping game with a queen sized cot!!  No more crawling around on the tent floor. Also we can sit on the bed to get dressed!!  We are SPOILED!!  Did I mention we have a shower and a pop up clam shelter.  OH and our tent and shower are made new!!  They are made by Core.  The poles are attached for easy setup and take down!!  We are definitely spoiled!!!
