Happy New Year!!!

 Hey Everyone!

Mike and I had a wonderful camping trip over the New Year's holiday.  We took our travel trailer down to Crooked Creek State Park in St. Marys, Georgia.  We really enjoyed this camping trip.  We always try to get a selfie with the park sign.  I know...corny....but we like it.  We camped from Wednesday, December 30 through Sunday, January 3rd.  It was really nice spending New Year's in a campground.  During all of this COVID business it's a great way to social distance!!

Here are pictures Mike took of our set-up.  We have a flag for travel trailer camping and a different one we take when we are in the tent.  Yes....I like tent camping ๐Ÿ˜Ž!!

I have to say two of the BEST things about camping are the campfire at night and breakfast!! My wonderful husband cooks the best breakfast. Well if I am being honest with myself he cooks all meals very well.  I am super spoiled and I am happy to say I don't want to change a thing.  It's not that I can't cook. Mike LOVES to cook!!  So why rock the boat I ask?????  We had blueberry pancakes and bacon on that day. We also had chesse grits, scrambled eggs and sausage.  You really have not had the BEST grits in the world until you eat my husbands cheese grits!!!!

This is one of my favorite items in the trailer.  Our friend Brenda Dantzler gave us this wonderful sign for our trailer!!  She and Jim got one for themselves as well even though they haven't purchased their trailer yet.

The first day we set up camp and just hung out at the camp site.  More adventures for the rest of the week and weekend.  We explored downtown St. Marys.  It's really beautiful and on the water.  We are going to make a return trip so we can check out the Cumberland Island National Seashore.  The ferry was full when we were there this time. But, hey, its a great reason to come back.

There is a really pretty church in historic downtown Maryville, Georgia.  It's called First Bank Catholic Church.  It was built around the 1840's.  As pretty as the church is the backyard was what I loved the most.

I have to say I have never seen a live armadillo until this trip. We were driving back from a wonderful seafood dinner and this little fella was hanging out on the side of the road in the park munching on some grass.  We stayed in the car and didn't bother him. He wasn't bothered at all by us!!

We explored a historic Tabby Sugar Works!!  I have to admit I didn't know what that was until we took a look.  This one was built around 1825.  Mike loves his photography.  I love taking a picture of my photographer while he is working.  He sees things that I don't. It's always fun.

We visited Jekyll Islan and Amelia Island while we were camping.  They all look the same to me ๐Ÿ˜Š.  No pictures from there. We did take a nice walk in the woods in the park.  It's a really pretty place.

Probably my favorite pic from the trip.....which way do we go?!?!

We had a great time!!! As a bonus our campsite made the Facebook cover photo of one of the Apex sites for Coachman. YAY!!!

We did not forget any food this time!! That was a plus.  We did have one trailer mishap but I will let Mike tell you about that ๐Ÿ˜™.  Y'all stay safe!!!
